Vision, Values & Aims

At Grand-Y-Care Academy our aim is to provide a welcoming, safe and happy environment to ensure every child will have the opportunity to grow and learn.

All our members of staff have been carefully chosen for their experience, qualifications and for their enthusiasm in developing and nurturing children in a caring and confident manner.

Our Vision, Values and Aims were developed in consultation with our staff, children, and families to ensure we continue to underpin the life and work of the Academy. They display our commitment to continuous improvement of the nursery to ensure we respect each other and our environment, build relationships and nurture all children in our care and promote an ethos of achievement in everything we do.

Our Vision

At Grand-Y-Care Academy we place children’s positive well-being, development, and engagement at the heart of everything we do.

We build strong, nurturing attachments for all our children and families. Striving to build on prior and continuous learning for our children, within and beyond our setting.

Our staff team is committed to continually improving our practice to provide excellent early years experiences and outcomes for all our children.

Through excellent partnership working with all of our families and support services, we aim to be the best and first choice early years education provision in our area.

Positive, caring relationships based on Respect, Nurturing and Achieving are at the heart of our philosophy.

Our vision is for all of our children to be offered free access to both indoor and outdoor environments every day.

At Grand-Y-Care Academy we believe it is essential to underpin our Vision and Values to offer all our children an environment rich in natural holistic play.  Children will be offered stimulating choices of space, resources, and uninterrupted time to develop their play ideas.

Our Aims

Our Values

We have a clear understanding of our values at Grand-Y-Care Academy, and everyone is valued and welcome.

Nurture

We provide each child with a nurturing, safe and engaging environment. We offer every child and their family positive care, support, and attention. We value all of our parents as partners to enable them to engage in their child’s learning and development.

All staff will have a sound knowledge of child development and respond to individual children’s development and learning needs. We offer every family an attachment led approach to support the nurture and care of their child.

Achieving

We aim for everyone to achieve the best they can. We offer a natural and holistic environment both indoors and outdoors. Our children have the freedom to achieve and progress well as they have access to quality, motivating activities and resources throughout the day. We also work closely with parents to develop strategies for children to assist their development needs.

Respect

We respect and support each other, we work closely with our families, carers, and other professional agencies to promote inclusion, equality, and the value of diversity. We are committed to contributing to the life and well-being of our local community. We support all of our children to work, play and learn together positively. All staff are respectful and spend time to show interest and value in every child.

Our aim is to have a setting that offers children the choice to move freely between indoors and outdoors, to explore, daydream, look on, watch, socialise, and relax.

We aim to allow our children to be active agents in decisions and actions for play that is big or small.

Our wish is for all of our children to take an active role in setting up, planning, clearing away and caring for everyone and for all areas of our play environments.

Our aim is for everyone to be active participants within our community, to be respectful, responsible and build relationships.

  • Children will always be offered indoor and outdoor environments.

  • Outdoor space will be considered a necessary part of the settings areas to play and learn.

  • A holistic pedagogy approach (Froebel Approach) will enhance and contribute to the child’s health and    well–being, stimulation and all areas of their development.

  • Offer an attachment led practice to ensure every child is listened too and can make choices.

  • Play must have freedom of movement.

  • Play must have lots of meaning to the child.

  • Staff must be available and committed to support child-led learning. They must be able to recognise, capture and share learning with parents and other professionals.

  • Staff will be supportive and sensitive to family cultural choices and differences in family values. Staff will work sensitively to reach the best outcomes for the individual child.

  • Staff must have confidence to harness the curriculum to ensure it compliments learning from both indoor and outdoor play experiences.

  • The nursery staff team will work collaboratively with parents and other professionals to ensure we get it right for every child.

  • We aim to improve our partnership with parents by providing new platforms and pathways of communication to build on the successful relationships we already have with all our families.
